Articles for Environment Agency fishing magazinesI was asked to write a series of articles for The magazines are designed to be entertaining and informative. The brief was to get across lots of useful information in an intelligent manner, while making the material readable and accessible to its audience. Of course, it also gave me a chance to try out a few fish puns here and there. The job entailed interviews with scores of people from Environment Agency scientists to local reps from angling clubs and all-sorts of people generally associated with fishing. As I explained on my blog at the time, I also discovered the best way to catch fish - use electricity to stun them. Environment Agency specialists do this all the time apparently, by wading out into a river with a battery on their back, connected to an anode and a cathode.
